newValue property (event)

Retrieves a string that specifies the current value of the modified attribute or TextNode element.
This property of the event object is available in DOMAttrModified and DOMCharacterDataModified event handlers.
When an attribute is modified, you can get the type of the action that modified the attribute with the attrChange property and the name of the modified attribute with the attrName property. Use the prevValue property to get the previous value of the modified attribute or TextNode element.
See the description of the DOMAttrModified and DOMCharacterDataModified events and the example below for further details.
Note that the newValue property is always empty in case of the DOMCharacterDataModified event in Firefox (see Example 2 below).

This property is read-only.

Possible values:

String that represents the current value of the attribute or TextNode element.
Default: this property has no default value.
